The Westin and The Romanos Resort

The Costa Navarino tourist development is constructed in the area of Romanos, in western Peloponnese on a sea side plot of 1.431,000m² overlooking the Ionian Sea. The Complex consists of two five star Luxury Hotels The Romanos - Costa Navarino Starwood’s Luxury Collection (289 rooms and 32 suites and presidential suite) and The Westin Resort - Costa Navarino Starwood’s Westin Hotels and Resorts, (445 rooms and suites and presidential suite), a Congress Centre (capacity of 2,000 persons), a Spa and Thalassotherapy Centre (4,000m²), a Health and Fitness Center and a 18 - hole golf course.
Small electrically operated vehicles enable access to all the complex facilities. The health and fitness center is an underground construction overlooking a lake and surrounded by a garden. It includes swimming pools, saunas, steam baths and Jacuzzi in a secluded yard. Sustainability was the main guide for the design of the project (bioclimatic architecture, geothermal energy used for heating and cooling purposes and innovative energy-saving techniques).
The project was 50% in collaboration with Meletitiki - A.N.Tombazis Ltd.
Anantara Hotel
5 Star Luxury Hotel, Muscat, Oman

The 5 Star Luxury Hotel of the Anantara Resorts Hotel Group, with a capacity of 300 beds, consists of deluxe bungalows, a 350m² Spa, 3 outdoors swimming polls, an outdoors Jacuzzi, a children’s swimming pool, children facilities, Conference and Banquet Halls (which can host 650 people), 2 Restaurants, Bar, Fitness Centre and a Tennis Court.
All mechanical and electrical needs of the Project are covered through an extended external network infrastructure with central hot and chilled water recirculation, electrical cabling and fire safety utilities. Central buildings and suites are serviced by internal installations for hot/ cold/ chilled water, electrical power, fire fighting and low voltage needs. Also, hot / chilled water and electrical utilities are provided for swimming pools and Jacuzzi installations.

Four Seasons
5 Star Deluxe Resort Complex, Sharm El Sheikh, Egypt

The Four Seasons 5 Star Deluxe Resort Complex is located in Sharm El Sheikh, Egypt. The resort comprises 136 luxurious guest houses, 27 suites, 64 family suites and spa halls.
The Project was well under way when a new team of Consultants (including LDK) was called to take over. Although the team (Consultants, Project Managers and Contractor) was International, the Project evolved smoothly and successfully.
The scope of work included:

Hilton Athens Hotel
Rearrangement and Extension of the 5 Star Hotel, Greece

This project included the renovation and extension of the 5 Star Deluxe Athens Hilton Hotel. The hotel comprises 527 rooms and suites, 4 restaurants and bars, 14 fully equipped conference halls and a Health Club of 1,500m².
Externally, the building was upgraded while maintaining its architectural style a new wing, accommodating 84 rooms on six floors, was also added. The wellness and beauty parlour next to the pool area completes the facilities of the new hotel.
The entire design team (architects, structural engineers, mechanical and electrical engineers) were located on site for the duration of the design and construction phases, sharing office space with the construction team allowing prompt response to arising problems and close coordination.
The services rendered were Architectural and M/E engineering design and super-visioning.
The project was 50% in collaboration with Meletitiki - A.N.Tombazis Ltd.
Grande Bretagne, Luxury Collection
5 Star Hotel, Athens, Greece

The project scope was the renovation of the Grande Bretagne 5 Star Deluxe Hotel of Starwood’s Luxury Collection, in Athens. The hotel comprises 321 rooms, 59 suites, a roof garden, 3 restaurants and bars, mixed use halls and a Spa of 800m².
The final construction design was done while actual construction was progressing (fast-track method) within 12 months.
Among the many constraints overcome, were the limited space for plant rooms, lack of shafts, low headroom as the building is very old and protected.

Hyatt Regency Thessaloniki

Hyatt Regency Thessaloniki is a 5 Star Hotel in Thessaloniki, Greece, the first of Hyatt Group in Greece.
The hotel complex consists of 118 rooms, 34 suites and a Conference Centre with a capacity of 1,050 people.
The Hotel is located close to Hyatt Regency Thessaloniki Casino, in a beautiful landscaped garden. A SPA and indoor and outdoor swimming pools are included.

Grecotel Amirandes
5 Star Hotel Complex, Crete, Greece

Renovation and an Extension were provided of the 5 Star deluxe Hotel Complex Grecotel Amirandes (formerly Cretasun), in Gouves Heraklion, Crete, Greece. The complex consists of 236 rooms and bungalows with a total capacity of 638 beds, an Elixir Spa of 520m², a Conference Centre of 710m² with a capacity of 400 people, 18 villas with private swimming pools. In addition, a presidential and a royal suite, and 4 restaurants.
MEP design was developed with simultaneous on site construction in just a 12 month period. A close collaboration with foreign architecture and lighting consultants provided a very accurate and flexible design for Grecotel’s most Luxurious project. A combination between a cost effective and reliable design was the team’s constant target.

Regency Casino Mont Parnes
Hotel, Casino and Funicular Rail Station, Greece

PHASE A: Two funicular rail stations and an underground parking lot with a capacity of 1,000 vehicles.
PHASE B: 5 Star Deluxe hotel of 170 beds capacity on Mount Parnitha, Attiki, Greece, along with a Spa of 1,000m², Casino and Casino VIP halls of 27,950m², an exhibition hall and Conference halls of 250m².
The design had to take into consideration the phased construction allowing the Casino to keep operating all around the clock. Additionally, the guest room tower was declared a protected building and the design had to adapt accordingly. Finally, the cable car system has double suspension cables in order to withdraw strong winds.
The scope of work included: Water supply / Sewage and Rainwater / Fire Protection / HVAC / Lighting / Power / Electrical Substation / Telephones - Data / Sound Facilities / Lightning and Earthning / Elevators / Special installations (Gas, Steam, sewage treatment, etc).
Westin Astir Palace Resort
5 Star Hotel Complex, Vouliagmeni, Athens, Greece

Astir Palace Vouliagmeni is a 5 Star Hotel Complex, operated and managed by Starwood. It is located in Vouliagmeni, Attica, Greece.
The Project involved the full refurbishment of all the MEP installations for ARION Resort and spa Hotel of Starwood’s Luxury Collection (123 rooms of 380 beds capacity) and the Westin Athens (formerly Nafsika) Hotel of Starwood’s Westin Hotels & Resorts (165 rooms) along with a Conference Centre and Halls.
The Project was executed in only 9 months with the fast-track method (design works were executed in parallel with the construction works).
The scope of work included the following:
Construction Design and Supervision of Water supply / HVAC/ LPG/ BMS.
