Expo 2010 Greek Pavilion
Hot Shell Design, Shanghai, China
Mechanical & Electrical Engineering
The project concerns the Final Design, Tendering and Project Management of the Greek Pavilion for Expo 2010, in Shanghai.
The cold shell of the pavilion was provided by the Expo, thus, the design concerned only the hot shell.
The Project was quite challenging given the following facts: the time-and-budget-oriented design, the extra difficulty caused since it was in an overseas city and that other countries’ pavilions for Expo 2010 were being designed and constructed at the same time. However, the Project Management team managed to successfully complete the project, both within time and budget limitations which resulted in a great response from visitors.
The scope of work included: Water supply / Sewage and rainwater / Fire Protection / HVAC / Lighting / Lighting control (with advanced DMX and KNX systems) / Power / Telephones - Data / Audiovisual back bone support / CCTV / Security alarm systems) / Special Installations (Protection, Audio Support, Kitchen Facilities and Equipment).

Star Channel
TV Station, Athens, Greece
M/E Engineering
Design and Construction Supervision of the Mechanical and Electrical installations for the Star Channel TV Station for the tendering, the permit and the construction design phase was the scope of this project. The building Complex consists of office buildings, 4 TV Studios and Radio Broadcasting Studio of the Nea Tileorasi S.A. - Star Channel Media company (9,000m²) with a parking lot for 303 vehicles, and a car showroom (336 m²) and workshop (794m²) of the Genesis S.A. (Ferrari) company, in the Vipa-Viopa area of Kifissia, Athens, Greece. The construction of the project was awarded to a Contractor based on preliminary drawings. Therefore, the actual design had to be performed, when construction was ongoing, one step ahead of the Contractor while bringing the design up to construction level. (Note: the Contractor did not have an obligation to produce shop drawings). Another constraint was that the building envelope was originally designed as an office building and the change of function in large areas (studios etc) created considerable hurdles. The scope of work included: Water Supply / Sewage and Rainwater / HVAC / Fire Protection / Lighting / Power / Electrical Substation / Telephones - Data / Public Address / Building Management System / Security Systems / Lightning and Earthing / Elevators / Natural Gas

Ster Century
Entertainment Center, Athens, Greece

The total building height (over ground) is 23m. The building structure is of concrete with the exception of the cinema tribunes which are steel construction. The most updated HVAC systems have been applied and the fire fighting systems have been designed according to the most strict regulations, constructed with the most inflammable materials and controlled by the building BMS system. Eight escalators and four lifts are provided along with 5 escape staircases to allow easy access and evacuation of all floor levels. A 1600KVA electricity substation is installed in the basement. Aluminum tube louvers cover the curbed elevations serving also as shades to the interior spaces. Six circular concrete pillars serve as lift wells cladded with metal panels.

Acropolis Slopes
Enhancing of the North and South Slopes, Athens, Greece
Architectural Landscaping
Enhancing of the north and south slopes of the Acropolis includes paving of the "Peripatos" walkway and other important pathways, restoration and delimitation of hill slopes, necessary networks and M/E installations as well as a series of new constructions.
Examples of these constructions are the lower level of part of the up-going road starting from the west yard of the Dionysus sanctuary and connecting with the west elevation of the Dionysus Theater and the bridged shortcut part of the "Peripatos" walkway in the east slope.
The three shelters: Dionysus, Asklipios and Halkourgio are new constructions. The first is a replacement and extension of an old construction that shelters an open air sculpture exhibition, whereas the other two are intended to cover an open air exhibition of excavation findings and protect excavated areas.
All three shelters have rectangular shapes with slightly pitched roofs made of flat glass panels which are specially elaborated and stained in patterns in order to shade the pathways below.
